Right, where was I? Oh yes, the new Google messaging app – Allo. We talked about it just yesterday when Pete mentioned “Allo Allo”, which was quite clever and I wish I’d done it. Doah.
It is now available for both Android and iOS. It’s an instant messaging app with a bit of added intelligence. A “Smart Reply” system lets you respond with just one tap and it’ll even offer some possible responses for you. HA! Why bother replying to your friends yourself when you can get an auto-responder to pretend to be you? BOOM!
The chat system will also add photos, emojis and stickers. Basically, if you imagine Google Hangouts with some intelligence, some stickers and a canvas – you’re nearly there. A personal Google Assistant builds on Google Now and let’s you ask Google questions. This can be done directly within chats. You can do this in a group chat or you can have a personal 1-to-1 with Google.
