In my opinion it’s one of the best phones to have been announced last year. Now it’s available on the high street for the buying public. Three and Huawei have just announced that the Mate 9 is going on sale in some of the Three stores and also online today.
If you are interested in this phone it is going to be available on both the AYCE tariffs and the Essential tariffs. On the Essential plan it’ll cost £99 upfront and £33 per month, and that will get you AYCE minutes and texts plus 4GB of data. On the AYCE plan it will start from £41 per month with an upfront of £29. There is no word on SIM-free pricing yet but we have seen suggestions of it being £549.99.
I have been fortunate to be using this phone since the beginning of November when it was announced and I have to say I am mightily impressed with it. Check the Mate 9 review for all the details.
The camera is awesome and and the phone flies for day to day tasks. It also holds up very well with regard to gaming. It was very recently tested by DXO Mark and they rated the camera at 85 which does place it a bit lower than some of its competitors. I personally think that this is a bit harsh as I have been very pleased with it.
The phone also comes with its own “super charge” system, allowing you charge the phone up to 60% in about half an hour. This is brilliant for those of us with busy lives. That 60% will actually give you (at least in my testing) a days usage.
The phone also comes with Android 7.0 out of the box and feature the vastly improved EMUI 5.0, which brings some significant changes including the much wanted traditional style launcher
.
It also makes EMUI look a lot more grown up and allows the default app icons to be used instead of.making everything confirm to the “Squircles” of the past.
