Here at Coolsmartphone Towers we always like a bargain, and we also love supporting the underdog. Which is why this deal seems to appeal to all my senses, especially after the shock of the iPhone X pricing!
Small upstart brand WileyFox have been bashing out smartphones for the past few years. These guys are British, so we like to think of them as the “British OnePlus”, and the similarities are more than just our perception. Their top-end phone, the Swift 2X, is not that badly specced and is a steal at £209. The higlight features are listest below;
The phone itself runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon Chipset which will allows you to have more than enough power for your daily tasks. Pair that with the 3GB of RAM and you should be able to jump in and out of apps without fuss. We also have a very appealing camera setup with a rear sensor from Samsung. The 16MP Samsung sensor rear camera with ISOCELL technology has phase detection auto focus (PDAF) for quick focus times, an f2.0 aperture, 1 µM pixel size and dual LED flash. This should equal better photos in low light conditions.
The front camera is an 8MP OV8865 sensor, which will give you more than adequate results for you selfie fans. In addition you get Live Filters, HDR, Panorama Mode, Slow Motion Video., so, fair to say a pretty well-rounded setup.
As for the software, the Swift 2X uses Android 7.1.2 Nougat, which is brilliant for the price. Most of the other phones at this pricepoint will still be languishing on Android 6.xx.

All in all, this looks like a pretty sweet phone for the price. What makes this deal special is that you are also getting a free Echo Dot from Amazon, making it a cheap way to get Alexa into your house. I’ve used an Echo Dot briefly and I was very impressed with it. It will shortly be re-joining my tech setup once I get WiFi back (I have just moved house). This unique offer is the first time there has ever been an Amazon Echo included with a smartphone and comes as the latest step in the ongoing partnership between Wileyfox and Amazon.
