One of the changes brought in by Android Wear 2.0 earlier this year was the addition of a Play Store app on the watch itself. This operates independently of a phone, but it’s fair to say that it can be a chore to browse through apps, particularly on watches with small screens. Although there have been one or two very minor updates since the launch of 2.0 back in February, we’re yet to witness any sort of significant OS release. One of Google’s employees involved with Android Wear has revealed that future OS updates might well be released via the Play Store app on the watch rather than through manufacturers.
