I really like products that are simple in nature, simple to use and do a good job, and I think the Smart Stand360 does just that. As the screens of our mobile devices get bigger and bigger, (oh I remember the hoo-ha when Dell released the Streak with its “massive 5-inch screen”) we are consuming more and more media on them. Now here’s where you’ll need a stand to hold your device, while you sit back and watch that latest YouTube video or episode on Netflix.
But what I’ve noticed is that you have to look long and hard for a case that’s nice and functional with a built-in stand. The norm is some sort of compromise of a leather or rugged case that has the stand built in.
What if you’ve got a case you really like, or want to go naked (oh missus) but want the stand option, well this is where the Smart Stand 360 comes in.
Design:
The Smart Stand 360 is a stand that you can affix to your own case or device by using a sticky 3 cm pad. Once in place, it allows, you to stand your device up in both portrait and landscape. You can also use the stand as a holster grip on a car vent holder, or as a way to securely hold your device one-handed.

In Use:
I first tried to fix the stand to my Truda armoured case for my OnePlus 3, but for some reason the 3 cm sticky pad just didn’t like the coating on the alloy shell and didn’t stick very well at all. I changed the sticky pad – Stand360 supplied me with extras – and I then affixed the stand to my Orzly Fusion Bumper Case, and boy was this a different matter. The stand stuck perfectly like chewing gum in long hair, and I was able to use it in all its standing glory.
It does add some bulk to the back of your device, but that’s a small price to pay for the functionality that the stand gives.
And hey, if you don’t like it you can easily (well with a bit of pulling to get the sticky pad to let go) remove it.
Conclusion:
The Smart Stand 360 is a simple creation and its inexpensive at £8 and available from Smart Stand. I’ve got one stuck on my Fusion case and I’m leaving it there, ‘cos after just a couple of days I was completely used to it being in place. If I don’t want the stand for any reason, I’ll change cases if I need to.
