Not too long ago Garry wrote an excellent review for the NUU Mobile G3. It’s £199.99 and, well.. it did fairly well in our tests. Not overly brilliant, but .. OK.
Today NUU Mobile have another device for us – the G2. This one is even cheaper, at £179.99, and has dual SIM capability.
It’s powered by a MediaTek 1.5GHz octa-core (which is .. enough) CPU and comes with 64GB of storage on board (you can put a microSD card in too) plus 4GB of RAM. You get a 5.99″ Full HD 2160×1080 pixel 18:9 ratio screen, a dual camera (20 + 2 megapixel) rear arrangement, fingerprint ID, 4G connectivity and express charging onto a 4000mAh battery.
Up front, a 13 megapixel screen and you get what looks like 2.4GHz WiFi, plus a headphone jack but alas no NFC for your payments.
The NUU Mobile G3, which is £20 more, adds the NFC and a faster CPU, but gets a lower resolution 5.7″ 1440×720 (18:9) screen and lower-resolution cameras plus an older version of Android (7.1 instead of 8.0 on the G2).
Nolan Newman from NUU Mobile, tells us…
At NUU Mobile we feel strongly that consumers shouldn’t have to sacrifice on design or features to accommodate their budgets. Following the success of our recent G3 we wanted to offer a phone that took its best elements and design that we could offer at an even more affordable price. We know that there is a huge demand for smartphones that are not only feature packed but also look great which is the ethos behind the G2.
We’ll try and get hold of one of these to review, but they’ll be sold online at uk.nuumobile.com and Amazon.co.uk from October 26th.
