She’s got a waterdrop notch and will be available in lavender violet, ocean blue or a piano black. You’ll get yourself a transparent one too, and no matter how real or not real that whole CPU / NFC rear-end is, we still like staring at it like crazy.
Based on Android 9 Pie, the Mi 9 runs MIUI 10.2 and has a bright 6.39″ 19.5:9 Full HD+ OLED display (kicking out 403 ppi) and gives a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio. It has a Reading Mode, a Sunlit Mode and gets a 600-nit brightness with High Brightness Mode.
Inside, and a chip we’re seeing everywhere here in Barcelona, is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 CPU with an Adreno 640 GPU. Next to that is 6GB RAM and 64GB on-board storage or 128GB storage depending on the flavour you get. There’s no microSD.
Wireless charging is here, so that’s 20W with a non-Qi proprietary charger OR 10W with Qi wireless charging and it has a 3,300mAh battery.
Camera tech, and that 48 megapixel shooter is back – a Sony senor which a wide-angle lens and f/1.75 aperture. It sites next to a 12 megapixel telephoto Samsung lens and a 16 megapixel 117° ultra wide-angle Sony one. LED flash support and laser autofocus. You’ll be taking very nice photos.
Up front, a 20 megapixel Xiaomi AI camera with a load of beauty functions.
The in-display fingerprint sensor from the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro is here again and you get the usual dollop of NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, 4G, dual-frequency GPS and a USB-C port.
