Yet more employees on the high street look to be losing their jobs as Dixons Carphone today announce plans to cut 800 jobs. The losses will be within in-store management of Currys PC World stores in order to “flatten (the) management structure” due to a rise in online sales.
It comes in the wake of big job losses at Pizza Express, DW Sports, John Lewis, Marks & Spencer, Boots, Selfridges and Hayes Travel. All have announced big job shake-ups recently.
Dixons Carphone has already made redundancies before the coronavirus lockdown, closing Carphone Warehouse stores.
The CEO of Dixons Carphone, Mark Allsop, stated today that…
We’ll do everything possible to look after those colleagues we can’t find new roles for, financially and otherwise.
