Poor old Hutchinson, they’re having a really tough time trying to get 3G off the ground here in the UK. They have now lost £300 Million from their “Three” network, as other networks (who are due to launch 3G soon) watch closely for any signs of success.
Better success appears to be with Symbian, chucking out 2.68 Million Symbian-based handsets in the first 6 months of 2003. The new Sony Ericsson P810 seen here (or maybe P900 – whatever they decide to call it) is due to pop it’s head out soon, which will no doubt boost that figure further. Symbian sales have soared 1000%, but these figures should be taken with a pinch of salt, as there is no independent clarification of them.
