Another day and another set of Tweets from Editor Eldar Murtazin. Today he’s talking Windows Phone 8, aka Apollo. That bit we knew already. What he is saying is that it’ll arrive in October this year and, surprisingly it looks to be incompatible with Windows Phone 7 on an application level. In his most recent tweet he states that developers will need to “rewrite all apps” and that it’s a new OS core with the Metro UI.
If true, this could be a monumental change for Microsoft and could upset a whole boat load of people. We’ll keep an eye out for updates..

Not such a big deal as there aren’t many WP7 users…

Currently I am waiting for exact information about this subject before buying a windows phone.
Then again they really cannot do this? I mean Millions in promotion in Q1-Q2 of 2012 for nothing?
If that is true then they would not bother promoting WP7 and waiting for WP8…
The statement above does not make any sense at all..Â

This tweet sounds stupid, why would MS do that?

I’d be so amazed. Microsoft have already done this once writing off a decade of Windows Mobile apps. They can’t going to do it again, especially when Windows Phone is finally getting decent app numbers.
