Yup, the SPV C500 is travelling across the water to the new world. America will now get the Audiovox SMT5600 – for this is what it is known as over there – on AT&T Wireless. A full Press Release will be posted here soon, but AT&T Wireless themselves have already put it on their website along with the fact that it’ll be running Windows Media Player 10.
The Audiovox SMT5600 is exactly the same as the SPV C500, except with a nice “AudioVox” logo on it.

This is yet another success story for the guys who make this handset – HTC – who have now made “unnamed” phones for T-Mobile (SDA / SDA Music), Orange and now for Audiovox too.

“The unit doesn’t have a speakerphone.” – WRONG
I also think that their view of “The phone’s mini-SD slot, awkwardly placed under the battery” is incorrect too. To begin with I thought that this would be a problem, but I lost my SD card twice with the E200 – I doubt I will have it drop out or lose it with this handset! Also, music ? In one ear ? Through your headset ? My arse… who wants that ?
