More and more people are emailing me and posting in the MS Smartphone Newsgroup about the MPx200 – seen right. It seems to be a highly anticipated phone and it’s looks are tempting buyers already. The Motorola was on show at the recent Computex show in Taipei, as pictures from mobile01.com show here. The Motorola was displayed on the TI (Texus Instruments) stand, as they’re the power behind the phone.
Over at MiTAC’s stand was the 8380 and the 8390 (below). This is another clamshell phone, and we’re hoping that this one will fair better than the 8380, which had some application certification issues which prevented software installing correctly and therefore prevented people buying it. The 8390 is similar in design to the MiTAC, in that it’s a clamshell phone, but has an antannae mounted on top. The 8390 is expected out at the end of this year in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, distributed on the same channels as the Mio 8380.
Whilst it looks very nice, we (Europe) and the US have our eyes on the Motorola at present – as this is due to “land” first.
