Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer have today joined forces with Google Play and You Tube to add over 600 titles for rental in the United States and Canada.
This means there are now five of the six major studios and over ten independent movie studios, currently offering movies for rent on YouTube and Google Play.
With online movie use in the US set to double this year (according to an IHS study) and making up the majority of home entertainment viewing, people will now find themselves able to watch classics such as The Terminator, Robocop, Rain Man or Rocky anywhere that there is a connected device.
With other titles including West Side Story and Moonstruck we can only hope these releases are made available in the UK sometime soon.
