The HTC Shift we reviewed has now been mad available by HTC. The Shift integrates the Micosoft Origami Experience 2.0, which you can see in action here. It basically gives a finger-friendly navigation around your UMPC (Ultra Mobile PC) with a browser, RSS reader and media player. Imagine Windows Media Center controlled with your finger and you’re nearly there. “Origami Now” will give you one-touch access to your crucial information – e-mail, weather, calendar, to-do lists and your location.
Also in the HTC Shift is the HTC SnapVUE technology, giving instant access to texts, contacts, emails, and calendar information without having to fire up Windows Vista. It packs a 40Gb HD, tri-band 3G / HSDPA and quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE plus Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi for ultimate connectivity. The HTC Shift will be available from today on Telefonica in Spain, with Orange in the UK and TIM in Italy very soon. It’ll cost around €1199 (£893) and runs Windows Vista Business Edition.
