Apple released iOS 6 beta 4 to developers this afternoon and in a move that may not be overly surprising, the YouTube app has been removed completely.
To say relations between Apple and Google have been strained recently would be an understatement. On stage at WWDC Apple announced they would be replacing Google Maps with an in house alternative.
The Verge have a statement from Apple saying:
Our license to include the YouTube app in iOS has ended, customers can use YouTube in the Safari browser and Google is working on a new YouTube app to be on the App Store.
So there may be a silver lining on all of this if Google can make a decent YouTube app, perhaps on par with the Android version rather than the disappointing Gmail app for iOS. When Google will release the app is unclear.
