A few weeks ago Engadget.com caused a right kerfuffle by publishing news on Windows Mobile 2005 (Magneto). The text itself wasn’t too damaging, but the screenshots were, and Engadget received a nice letter from MS lawyers asking them to remove the article, which, “includes material which is in violation of Microsoft’s intellectual property rights”.
Engadget.com removed the article, as did we. However, Engadget.com have now re-published the article with a few amendments here and there.
Now Jason Calacanis, founder of Weblogs Inc., Engadget.com’s parent company, has commented on the situation in his blog, along with a copy of the letter from the lawyers.
