Huawei have always done budget phones well, and as of next week Talk Talk will be boosting their choice of entry level Androids with the Ascend Y210 and Ascend G510. They’ve also bagged Huawei’s MediaPad 7 Lite budget tablet.
The Y210 is so close to the entry level it may as well be the doorman, and it can be yours for only £5 per month, but you can pick it up along with the 7-inch MediaPad Lite 3G and Wi-Fi tablet in a bundle for £15 per month. Alternatively, you could upgrade to the G510/MediaPad bundle for £20 per month.
These are all very much entry level products, and are priced as such. They should satisfy the casual user who just wants a bit of web browsing and cutting the occasional rope.

It features Huawei’s own easy-to-navigate interface, which enables one-step access to call, messaging and camera functions from the unlock screen. The interface is designed to ease the transition to smartphones for those upgrading from feature phones for the first time.
The Ascend Y210 also incorporates a powerful processor and long battery life to enable a great smartphone experience at an entry-level. It also includes a 2 megapixel camera to capture moments on-the-go; easily shareable via a 3G or Wi-Fi signal.

The Huawei Ascend G510’s large 4.5-inch screen, combined with DTS surround sound, enables superior mobile video, gaming and web-browsing in the lower mid-tier. Its fast 1.2GHz dual-core processor and big 1750mAh battery provide power and longevity to support data-hungry applications and content, such as catch-up TV and gaming. It also incorporates Huawei’s power saving technology for additional 30% battery efficiencies.
The Ascend G510 features Huawei’s intuitive and customisable Emotion UI, running over the Android 4.1 Jellybean operating system. Availability andpricing
The Huawei Ascend Y210 is available from TalkTalk Mobile now, from £5 per month on contract. The Ascend G510 launches June 4 in black, available on contract from £10 per month. The MediaPad 7 Lite is available now from TalkTalk Mobile bundled with a number of smartphones, including the Ascend Y210.
Consumers can combine purchase of the Ascend Y210 and MediaPad 7 Lite from £15 per month on contract for both. With launch of the Ascend G510, the MediaPad will be available in a contract bundle from £20 per month.
Not too bad those prices, I believe TalkTalk piggy back off the Voda network. The contracts come in as S, M and L which equate to:
S – 100 Mins, 250 Texts, 200meg Data, £5 – Y210, £10 – G510
M – 550 Mins, 3000 Texts, 1gig Data, £10 – Y210, £15 – G510
L – 1250 Mins, 3000 Texts, 4gig Data, £20 – Y210, £25 – G510
The G510 isn’t on the website at the moment, but they do have various tablet / phone bundles available. I believe you have to be a talktalk phone/broadband customer to get these deals.
The Nexy 7 and S3 bundle comes in at £30, £35 and £40 per month for a 24 month contract. Free devices.
