The OPPO N-Lens camera was confirmed by the Chinese manufacturer late last month after weeks of rumours and speculation. What they didn’t say was that it would be integrated into a phone called the N1.
Marketing literature has been leaked on the Chinese social networking Weibo.
The N-Lens N1 is apparently going to feature a 12 MP camera, an “Owl” image chip, which we’re assuming will be good in low light (rather than have a rotating head and a penchant for small rodents), and a Xenon flash.
There’s no indication as to screen size or processor, but the photos make it look smaller than the 5″ form factor of the Find 5. Android will be the operating system of choice, presumably running the same version as the Find 5 (4.1.2 with the Project Dragonfly launcher).
It looks like OPPO are gunning for the Nokia 1020 with the N1, and with the price tag of $480 it would make it significantly cheaper than the Nokia at $699, but whether a 12 MP shooter will compete with the proven PureView technology is a different matter.
Worldwide availability is unclear, but given the warm reception the Find 5 has enjoyed I would like to think Europe will get in on the N1 action.

Looking good, I do hope this has a decent sized sensor. The Pureview modules have massive sensors compared to all the other phones on the market. The HTC one is on the right lines, it just needs a bigger sensor and up the pixel count to 8+
This is what I have been waiting for since Android came out, an Android phone with good camera in low light (larger sensor hopefully) & a xenon flash, so hope it launches soon & comes to the UK.
Just hope it is 4.5″ to 4.7″ screen, not a lover of the massive 5″ screen phones.
