Google have released an update to Keep which brings several noteworthy features to its up till now fairly bare bones functionality.
Of most note (no pun intended), is the ability to add reminders to notes, which can be both time and location based. This is integrated with Google Now, to let you know when/where exactly you need to do a task. Simply hit the remind me button at the bottom of a note and Google will even suggest nearby locations for you. The reminders come through as notifications and can even be snoozed directly from the notification drawer.
In line with Google’s other first party apps, Keep also now sports an app drawer, allowing quick access to your notes, archive and reminders. There’s also multiple account support with a switcher at the top of the app drawer.
Finally, you can now use existing photos in your notes, rather than only being able to use the camera for a new picture.
All in all, a nice enough update. But there are still missing features I’d like to see. Most of all, tags and sharing. Still, Keep is slowly getting better and more useful.
As is Google’s custom, the app is in staged rollout and will appear for users at some point. If you’re the impatient type, the APK probably isn’t too hard to find.
