Whilst at the ViewSonic stand we took a look at the dual-booting ViewPad 10pro. Now, first up, we should state that the term “dual boot” isn’t quite right. It’s doesn’t have to boot or reboot – it’ll just switch. A mere double-click of the Android icon within the windows 7 environment with switch you into Android. Likewise, a press and hold of the Windows logo in the Android system will switch you back. How is this done? Well, viewSonic aren’t telling us too much at this point but it is running a virtual machine somewhere – presumably both machines are running as two seperate virtual machines.
Inside you can find an Intel Oak Trail CPU running at 1.5GHz plus there’s 3G connectivity, 2GB RAM, 32GB mSATA and a 10.1″ WSVGA capacitive screen with 1024×600 resolution. You also get microSD expansion, a 1.3 megapixel camera up-front, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi, HD video playback a G-sensor and a 3300mAh battery.
There’s still a few things to be ironed out with both this and the V350 but they definitely have promise. Here’s me switching from Windows 7 to Android 2.2 and back again (with a bit of help)..

Techradar are saying it runs Win7 but with Android virtualised. So WIn7 is always running. What’s the point? If you prefer the Android UI, you won’t be using Win7 and visa versa.
Who would want to browse the web, check e-mails on both platforms?
Probably for those that use win 7 and microsoft office for creating documents, presentations etc. on the go, but want to swap to Android at the weekend for taking pics, browsing the web, facebook etc on a more intuitive and user friendly interface?
