In the interests of fairness we decided to take a look around the Windows Phone 7 stand today. It sits in hall one and is roughly opposite the HTC stand. Sadly for both companies they’re dangerously close to the infamous CBOSS stand which you’ll see in the video below. We’ve already filmed the Google area so wanted to see what Microsoft had to offer.
Their selection of handsets is obviously a little smaller, after all they only came on sale a few months ago, and we didn’t see quite so many people hanging around. New Windows Phone 7 handsets like the HTC 7 Mozart, HTC, Samsung Omnia 7 and the LG Optimus 7 were on display and there’s a demo area where people can learn more about the OS and how it works.
Here’s a video of the stand…

For a website that started off as a Windows smartphone site, and THIS is the coverage that WinPho gets? I agree with others who say that this website seems to be very critical & negative towards WP7. Shame.
I don’t think we’re being critical. Like I said in the video, Windows Phone
7 may not have masses of people hovering around the stand at the moment but
that’s not to say they can’t grow in the same way that Android has.

Problem is there were no new devices, last year WP7 was plastered all over MWC, a year on and all we get is the promise of multi-tasking, this is 2011 remember why has it taken so long?. On the other hand manufacturers have taken Android and added new things like 3D, Dual-Core CPU and are really pushing things to the limits where as WP7 can’t even tether yet.
If there were more things to cover on WP7 it would have been covered but the honest truth was there was just nothing.
Not taking anything away from WP7 it has a lot of potential especially now Nokia are on board and developing using this OS but it needs to improve and keep up with the rest of the pack
